Pioli Rallies Milan Comeback to Retain Scudetto Crown

Milan coach Stefano Pioli has urged his side to push ahead going into the season’s second half believing they can win the Scudetto yet again. The reigning champions sit 8 points behind league leaders Napoli, who have been in impeccable form – unbeaten after 15 matchweeks.

Pioli spoke his mind in an interview on Italia Uno (via Voce Giallorossa), stressing the Rossoneri to do their best.

“We must think that we can still win the championship, this in the most absolute way. Then it is clear that if Napoli continues like this it can make 100 points and then we must congratulate them, but we must think about making many points”

Milan finished last year with 86 points, two more than Inter, enroute a 19thScudetto title.

“Last year, 86 were needed, perhaps this year they could serve even more. There are still 69 points available. That’s a lot but we must start pedaling hard and we must certainly believe it.”

The Rossoneri resume their campaign against Salernitana on January 4, as they seek to shorten the gap with Napoli at the top of the table.
