REVEALED: Juventus, Ramsey Outpockets Ronaldo in 2021

In a surprising revelation by Italian outlet Tuttosport, a sombre fact has emerged from the books of Juventus, who will or already have regretted the decision to bring in ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey to Allianz Stadium.

Ramsey has been a cutout figure through most of his Bianconeri career, although he is gifted with a stunning wage package of €7m net per season in Turin. It is no secret that Juventus want to rid his wages off the club’s books but there is a lack of active suitors for the 31-year-old Welshman.

He is currently the fourth-highest paid player in the Juve squad behind Matthijs De Ligt, Paulo Dybala and Adrien Rabiot.

Today’s headlines in the Italian newspaper reads: “Costs more than Ronaldo!” – referring to the fact that his cost per minute in 2021 was higher than Cristiano Ronaldo’s, with the Portuguese sensation boasting the track record for being the club’s highest ever earner.

Ramsey played 840 minutes during the 2021 calendar year, averaging a whopping €8,928 per minute. Ronaldo, on the other hand, played 11,507 minutes for the Bianconeri during the same time – until August, when he moved to Manchester United – costing €7,281 per minute.

This season, Ramsey has played only five games across all competitions – registering 112 minutes in total. He has largely missed out due to constant injuries and the lack of preference from coach Allegri.

Financially-hit Juventus are bound to offload the Welsh midfielder at the earliest, with clubs from Premier League rumored to be interested in his services.
