Theo Hernandez Elated After Signing Extension with Milan

As it has been rumored, Milan have finalized the extension of Theo Hernandez. The fullback officially put pen-to-paper earlier today. The Rossoneri had been working on it since last November. The new contract runs through 2026, and he will earn €4M per year, doubling his previous salary, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

Hernandez commented on his new deal with Milan on the club’s TikTok: “I am very happy. I have been very at ease here with the coach, the teammates, and the directors since day one. That is why I decided to stay. We must continue to play well as we have been doing lately. It is true that several clubs pursued me, but I never considered leaving.”

“I am still young, and I have to grow day after day. Stefano Pioli improved me in every aspect, as a player and as a person. He has been saying from the beginning that I should do what I am capable of, and I am listening to him.”

“I like attacking more than defending. When I get the ball, my first thought is to get to the opposing goal, but sometimes I decide to pass it. Our left flank is devastating. Rafael Leao is an incredible player, quick and technical, and he has a lot of upside too.”

Hernandez indicated his best day at Milan so far: “The first one. Samu Castillejo and the other Spanish-speaking players helped me fit in. It is not easy when you are not getting minutes in your previous side, as you lack confidence. They trusted me here and shaped me into who I am today. We are a nice group of players, almost a family. I wanted to continue to be with them. My favorite goal so far was the volley against Udinese.”
