Tomori Expounds on Ibrahimovic Influence in Milan Locker Room

Fikayo Tomori earned a call-up by England in this break thanks to his excellent showings with Milan. He spoke from the national team’s camp and showered Zlatan Ibrahimovic with immense praise for his charismatic role within the Rossoneri: “He has a sort of aura in the locker room. Whether he is on the pitch or on the bench, his influence is palpable. He encourages everybody.”

“Zlatan is a true leader, and he always provides a major contribution whenever he plays. He did not manage to do it much this year, but he has already scored once. He is very beloved by Milan fans, and that is a big boost for the whole team.”

As transcribed by Sky Sport, Tomori continued: “Ibrahimovic does not assert himself, nor is he particularly aggressive, as it may seem from outside. He is a really nice guy and a winner, and he conveys that to whoever is around him.” The Swedish striker helped him get acclimated in Italy: “He always speaks in English. He aided me a lot and often indicated to me where he wanted the ball or where I had to defend.”

Tomori worked his way back into the Three Lions squad after two years. His last and only international appearance dates back to November 2019 against Kosovo. He will have the opportunity to earn his second cap in the upcoming matches against Andorra and Hungary. The defender has featured in every Milan game so far, starting in all of them but one, versus Venezia.
