Torino Shortlist Roma Talent to Replace Inter-Bound Bremer

As Torino prepare to part ways with Gleison Bremer due to heavy interest from several Serie A giants – with Inter most likely to bag his signature – the Granata have reportedly shortlisted a Roma loanee to replace the Brazilian center-back.

Reports of Calciomercato.it (via ForzaRoma) mention Marash Kumbulla as Bremer’s most probable replacement in Turin. Torino coach Ivan Juric spent two years at Hellas Verona from June 2019 to May 2021, coinciding his stay in the 2019/20 season with Kumbulla’s emergence as a new talent. That particular campaign proved to be the Albanian defender’s big break, as he racked up 26 appearances for the Gialloblu.

Kumbulla has played a key part this season in Jose Mourinho’s Giallorossi outfit, especially since Roger Ibanez was sidelined for a few matches due to injury. The 22-year-old has 24 appearances this season for Mourinho’s side, scoring one goal in the process.

He joined Roma on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2021. Having recently been acquired by the capital club, he is not expected to leave for a reduced asking price.

With a transfermarkt value of €18m, it is understood that the Giallorossi will demand anything upwards of €20-25m from Torino, incase the Piedmont natives do open negotiations for the highly-rated youngster. However, it will all depend on Bremer’s exit from the club.

Kumbulla has already made 14 appearances for the Albania national team this season.
