Werner Rejected Inter’s Advances Amid Lukaku Transfer

Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Chelsea from the Nerazzurri arrived with the Italian giants being interested the other way – in one Blues striker, who was being touted for a move away from London before they won the Champions League title.

Timo Werner reportedly rejected advances from Inter in order to stay at Chelsea, irrespective of Lukaku’s presence. As Chelsea negotiated for Lukaku, Inter were eyeing the German international, who had a shaky start to his English Premier League career. However, nothing materialized for the Nerazzurri as Werner is adamant of proving his worth to his manager Thomas Tuchel.

It was also reported that Werner was looking forward to linking up with the Belgian international, who returns to Chelsea twice the player he was when he first step foot at the club a decade ago.

Lukaku made a stunning debut for Chelsea against Arsenal, scoring a tap-in and putting in a formidable performance across all fronts.
