Napoli Mayor Plans Scudetto Celebrations Ahead of Time

Napoli mayor Gaetano Manfredi has revealed preparations to celebrate the Scudetto title are already being planned, with Luciano Spalletti’s men a mere month away from sealing a historic third Italian league title.

Manfredi spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli) and shared what plans are being made to celebrate the Partenopei’s achievements.

“The idea, shared with the club and the prefecture, is that the official party should have several centres: each district must have his moment of joy and not everything will be concentrated in Piazza del Plebiscito”.

He also shed light on potential renovations of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“Deep renovation for the fans of tomorrow. A modern and digital stadium with a contemporary vision requires important investments: we hope that the opportunity of the 2032 European Championship will also help us. In a modern stadium, which lives 7 days a week, the spectator doesn’t just want to watch the match, he will look for entertainment or perhaps visit a museum that displays the history of the relationship between the city and the team.”

Napoli face Milan next at home on Sunday, as they prepare to grab yet another victory in a bid to register a historic 100-point season. They have a mammoth 19-point lead over second-placed Lazio.
