Roma are active on the market, looking for reinforcements, especially after their staggering 6-1 loss at the hands of Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League. And this time they have been linked to a Brazilian goalkeeping talent who has been turning heads as far away in the Premier League and La Liga.
Bahia’s 17-year-old shotstopper Gabriel Souza is said to have captured the attention of sporting director Tiago Pinto, according to Spanish outlet AS (via Teamtalk). The report also mentions of two other clubs from across the European continent interested in the teenage talent.
Chelsea and Real Valladolid have registered their interest in the Bahia prodigy, who has a release clause of €7m on his contract that runs until 2024.
He is touted to receive an Italian passport soon that will only strengthen his links to the Giallorossi, who look like surefire contenders for the youngster’s signature.
Roma already have one young goalkeeper in the form of their own youth product, 19-year-old Italian prodigy Pietro Boer. However, links with Souza are strong.
