Venezia Set to Sign Bayern Munich Pariah to Bolster Midfield

Venezia have reached an agreement in principle with Bayern Munich to acquire Mickeal Cuisance. The two clubs are ironing out the final details of the transfer. The player is already in Italy to take the medicals ahead of the formalization of the deal.

The Lagunari were looking for a reinforcement in the midfield and managed to land an international profile. Venezia will pay €3/4M to Bayern Munich for the 22-year-old, Sky Sport reports. They edged out CSKA Moscow in the race to sign him.

According to Trivenetogoal, Cuisance will ink a four-year contract. He featured just twice this season, and for a mere 12 minutes in Bundesliga. The German powerhouse acquired him for €8M from Borussia Moenchengladbach in 2019. However, he struggled to find his footing in Bavaria, where he totaled only 13 appearances. He spent the 2020-2021 season on loan to Marseille, tallying 2 goals and 1 assist in 23 matches. The Frenchman will be eager to bounce back after a few underwhelming campaigns.

The Lagunari have brought in multiple youngsters from abroad over the last couple of seasons. They added Ethan Ampadu and Arnor Sigurdsson on loan from Chelsea and CSKA Moscow last summer. Instead, they permanently acquired Gianluca Busio from Sporting Kansas City and Tanner Tessmann for FC Dallas.

Venezia targeted the Bayern Munich outcast as they were lacking another pure deep-lying playmaker behind the oft-injured Antonio Vacca. The newly-promoted Arancioneroverdi are currently 16th in the standings. They hold a six-point cushion over the relegation zone.
