Frattesi: “It Was an Important Game, This Is a Crucial Win for Our Season”

Following the Neroverdi’s impressive 2-1 victory over Verona, Sassuolo central midfielder Davide Frattesi provided his insight on the vital fixture.

The Italian international was pivotal within the match as he completed the comeback for his side within the 74th minute as he brilliantly finished Hamed Traore’s low-driven cross into the box. The Roma academy product extended his fine run of form to four goals in eleven fixtures within the Serie A.

While speaking with Dazn, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, the 23 year-old touched upon the importance of sealing all three points within their home stomping ground:

“It was an important game for us; this is a crucial win for our season.”

In addition, the Italian playmaker spoke about his argument with boss Alessio Dionisi throughout the fixture in regards to his positional play:

“Yes, with the coach is love and hate,” Frattesi said, smiling. “We had tried this in training, he was right to demand me to stay up there. I did it more in the second half, end eventually, I scored.

“I feel more freedom this season even if I scored four in the Girone d’Andata last season and then I stopped. Now I must continue. As I said, we need consistency and ambition, trying to win as many games as possible.”
