Traoré Ready to Help Sassuolo, Comments on His Future

Sassuolo ace Hamed Traoré returned on the pitch in the past game after missing the first portion of the season due to a foot fracture. The attacker shared his thoughts with La Gazzetta di Modena.

“I’m fine and I’m recovering. I had this incident, but maybe it’s not all bad. In my mind, everything happens for a reason. I set some goals for myself and want to reach them.”

The Neroverdi star might have to divvy up minutes with Armand Laurienté this season.

“Having competition is healthy. We will see who plays more.”

Sassuolo will face Verona in the next round.

“We are growing and we concede less. We are in good form. The match will be similar to the Atalanta clash. We will have to add what we lacked last week.”

Traoré was quizzed about whether he wanted to depart in the summer.

“You have your ideas, and I have mine. The first two years here weren’t easy, as I wasn’t getting consistent minutes and wasn’t starring in my best position. I figured some things out in the third season, I questioned myself, tried to give my best, and it worked out. There were some possibilities in the summer, but I stayed and have a positive mentality. I’m comfortable here and moving to a more prestigious team, which Sassuolo already are, hinges on how I perform here. I’m happy and I’m not listening to the offers now. Bundesliga and Premier League could be ideal for me. I wouldn’t mind going abroad.”

The 22-year-old became a left winger last year.

“I’m naturally a box-to-box midfielder and didn’t accept when coaches saw me in different roles. I eventually gave in and they were right.”
