Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri addressed the rumored swap between Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku in a presser before a friendly in the United States. The coach is reportedly one of the biggest proponents of signing the Chelsea outcast. He was quizzed on the matter by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato).
“I’m happy with the roster at my disposal. However, if offers we can’t refuse due to our economic and financial needs arrive, they’ll be assessed. I’ll comply with the choices as I have always done.”
While awaiting developments on the possible trade with Lukaku, Vlahovic has recovered from some muscular problems that sidelined him throughout the summer.
“He has practiced with the rest of the team for two days in a row and will be available against Real Madrid. I’d be happy to field him for a portion of the game.”
Allegri also commented on Alvaro Morata.
“I’m very attached to him, but Juventus have a competitive roster and four strikers already.”
According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus and Chelsea are negotiating the monetary part of the Vlahovic-Lukaku swap. The Blues offered €20M, while the Bianconeri asked for €10M more. Per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Old Lady initially demanded €50M with the goal of sealing the deal at €40M in mind.
