Cagliari Midfielder Once Again Linked with Inter Move

Pablo Bentancur, the agent of Nahitan Nandez, is once again offering his client to big clubs and directly mentioned Inter in an interview with Carve Deportiva (via Mediaset).

“We’re negotiating with them, and they want him. His contract expires in June 2024. We have received several calls, including theirs. The most important thing for him is to recover well now. He played his last Uruguay match while hurt. He’ll surely be an important name in the next window.”

Nandez had joined Cagliari right after they sold Nicolò Barella to Inter. According to TuttoSport, the versatile midfielder is indeed on the Nerazzurri’s radar. They already inquired in the past but were met with a high request.

While he’s more of a target for summer in another Bosman move, they could accelerate in the winter if Juan Cuadrado doesn’t stay healthy. The Rossoblù could be open for business and would like to get loanee Gaetano Pio Oristanio in return. However, La Beneamata doesn’t want to lose the starlet at this stage.

Our Take on Nandez and Inter

It has been rumored in almost every window, but his departure will likely arrive only at the end of his contract. A few teams should be in on him. Since he’s younger and cheaper salary-wise, can play in multiple roles, and has a lot more juice left in the tank than Cuadrado, he’d be a sold singing for the Nerazzurri. But they aren’t mutually exclusive. He could simply replace Stefano Sensi and Davy Klaassen.
