I made an excellent choice by coming here. He talks very clearly, he’s genuine, loyal, and authentic. He didn’t lose his essence despite having a great career.”
The striker looked back at this stay with the Partenopei.
“Every team you play for gives you something, but they have a special place in my memory. Those three years were the beginning of my trajectory that continued in Paris and Manchester. I’m a discreet person and tend not to show emotions. But the affection I received in Napoli from the first day was thrilling and incredible. I was unveiled as if I was the Pope. It was overwhelming.”
Cavani is delighted with how Napoli are faring this season.
“I follow them with attention and involvement. I don’t know if they will manage to win the Serie A, but I sincerely hope so. There’s everything in place for them to do it. They are a serious and organized club that plans and works well in the transfer market. They have a great coach, interesting and hungry players, and the usual eternal passion of the public. Their start was phenomenal. January will be a key month for them.”
