Chelsea Shotstopper Mendy Appears on Milan Radar

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is a realistic option for Milan, who are planning to bolster their rearguard. Mike Maignan has already established himself as Stefano Pioli’s numero uno between the sticks, but is currently struggling with recovery. Signing an additional goalkeeper is not out of reach for the Rossoneri.

According to English newspaper The Sun, Chelsea shot-stopper Mendy has been linked to the exit door following reports of him being unsatisfied with the Blues’ contract renewal offer. His disappointment is regarding wages, as the Senegal international wants to earn as much as Kepa Arrizabalaga, who currently pockets double of what he earns.

It is reported that Mendy has snubbed a six-year extension deal put forward by Chelsea.

Milan are keeping close eye on developments in the English capital, as are Ligue 1 duo OGC Nice and AS Monaco.

Mendy was voted as FIFA’s best goalkeeper in 2021 after leading Chelsea to a historic Club World Cup trophy following their UEFA Champions League win.
