Del Piero Backs Allegri and Juventus to Overcome Difficulties

Italy icon Alessandro Del Piero perhaps knows better than anyone what Juventus are currently going through, having been a rock for the club throughout their tumultuous Calciopoli phase. The ex-Juventus captain believes there are problems in the locker room that need to be addressed.

“In the locker room there are external problems, both emotionally and in terms of balance. At the end of the year, the work of the team and Allegri will also have to be judged in light of these problems,” said Del Piero. (via Tuttomercatoweb)

The enigmatic forward backed the team to come together to support Massimiliano Allegri to help get the club back into shape.

“It may be that the team comes together with the coach to overcome the difficulties, to avoid the risk of getting into disarray.”

Del Piero was one of the few names, along with Gianluigi Buffon, that stuck with Juventus during their demotion to Serie B in the 2006/07 season. He helped the Bianconeri gain promotion back to the top-flight that season.
