Fabian Ruiz on Napoli: ” A Piece of My Heart Belongs to Them”

Despite parting ways with Napoli during the summer transfer window this season, Spanish international Fabian Ruiz expressed his happiness for his former club regarding their tremendous success thus far.

After refusing to extend his stay with the Partenopei, the club decided to offload the central midfielder to Ligue 1 powerhouses PSG in order to avoid losing the 26 year-old on a potential free transfer.

In an interview with Milan-based journal Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spaniard spoke about how he felt witnessing Napoli establish their dominance across all competitions, emphasizing his attachment to the club since arriving to the Azzurri in 2018 from Spanish outfits Real Betis:

“I spent four years there, a piece of my heart belongs to them. I am so happy for them. They’ve had a great start to the season, they are first in Serie A and in their Champions League group. I have friends there, and I want the best for them.”
