Fiorentina have accepted a strong bid from Benfica for Arthur Cabral while they were completing the acquisitions of Lucas Beltran and M’Bala Nzola, who will team up in their revamped frontline. The Portuguese team will pay €20M plus €5M addons. He’ll replace Gonçalo Ramos, who just joined PSG in a €65M transfer, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The Brazilian forward joined the Viola in January 2022 and hit his stride in the second half of last season. He’ll depart after scoring 19 goals in 64 appearances. The Gigliati had paid €15M to get him from Basel.
Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone confirmed that Cabral is headed to Benfica. His father Helio dished to Antena 1 (via Record).
“He’s very happy. His new team fights for the title. He’ll have the chance to play many games and become a champion. He’s transferring to a big club, and I’m very proud. I hope he’ll resume being the prolific score he has always been. He informed me yesterday. His new Brazilian teammates will help him. He adapts quickly to any situation.”
“We must thank Fiorentina. This is how football works. He’s moving to a good league. He’ll give his 100 percent as always.”
Our Take on Fiorentina Selling Cabral to Benfica
He was the keeper out of their previous duo, but he doesn’t have great upside. The offer was ultimately too good to pass on.
