Sassuolo are not yet finished in the transfer market despite making six outright transfers, other than three loan transfers. And their next onboarding could well be their youngest so far, following the acquisitions of 19-year-old duo Cristian Volpato and Filippo Missori.
According to Sky Italia (via SassuoloNews), Genoa talent Luca Lipani is high on the Neroverdi shortlist, as the Emilia-Romagna outfit seeks to beat favorites Juventus to win over the midfielder. The Italy U20 central midfielder emerged through the Genoa youth system in 2022/23 and then onto the first team under Alberto Gilardino.

Lipani, who is well-known for his defensive abilities coupled with his versatility to function as a deep-lying playmaker, signed his senior contract in December 2022.
His deal with the Grifone expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, taking note of which Juventus first started probing a transfer in a bid to include him in their Next Gen team. However, Sassuolo are reportedly in pole position to win over Lipani.
Our Take on Lipani and Sassuolo
Despite the prospect of starring for Juventus at such a young age, Sassuolo seem more of a concrete destination for the 18-year-old talent to develop further. On a different perspective, staying at Genoa to perhaps play a vital role in the club’s Serie A revival could prove worthwhile.
