Inter have added Bologna’s Dan Ndoye to the shortlist of potential substitutes for Denzel Dumfries, who might depart this summer due to his short-term contract. The Nerazzurri brass recently gathered intel about the Swiss winger, Sky informs.
The Felsinei paid €9M to sign him from Basel last summer. He earned a regular role reasonably soon, but his touch in the box has often been lacking. He has scored once and assisted twice in 32 appearances. The 23-year-old also starred for Lausanne-Sport and Nice before moving to Italy. He has nine caps with his national team.
On top of Ndoye, Inter are keeping tabs on a few more options should they fail to come to terms with Dumfries on a renewal. His price tag is around €25M. Aston Villa have been the only team concretely linked to him so far.
The Nerazzurri have also been attached to Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode, AZ Alkmaar’s Yukinara Sugawara, and Girona’s Arnau Martinez.
Our Take on Inter and Ndoye
While he’s not a great finisher, but wouldn’t need to be in their scheme, he’d be an intriguing signing since he’s a combination of Dumfries and Juan Cuadrado given his physical skills. He’d pair well with Matteo Darmian, who’s rather defensive-minded. It doesn’t hurt that he’s already familiar with Serie A. On the other hand, Bologna are already fending off offers for multiple regulars and would eventually want to turn a decent profit since they purchased him just a year ago, and he’s been serviceable.
