Andrea Pinamonti and Stefano Sensi have done pretty well after leaving Inter loan, respectively in June and in January. The Nerazzurri are monitoring them to assess whether they could be part of the future squad. At this stage, the midfielder has better chances to stay put next summer, Calciomercato.com informs.
The 22-year-old forward is putting together a career year at Empoli. He is approaching the double-digit threshold in scoring. However, he struggled in a backup role under Antonio Conte in the previous campaign. He has improved tremendously with the Azzurri. However, La Beneamata will likely opt to rely on more established strikers in 2022-2023.
Inter are chasing after Davide Frattesi and Gianluca Scamacca, and Pinamonti could be an enticing bargaining chip for Sassuolo, which were also linked with a reunion with Sensi in January. Torino have expressed interest in the young striker as well. They will most likely lose Andrea Belotti as a free agent.
The 26-year-old midfielder scored in his Sampdoria debut and has been generally convincing. Marco Giampaolo’s style suits him. He has an outside shot of being among the Italy call-ups for the upcoming World Cup playoffs. He has mostly stayed healthy, which was his main issue before the move.
If that continued to the case, Sensi could stick around at Inter to provide depth, differently from Pinamonti. The Nerazzurri will undergo substantial changes in the backup positions of the midfield in the summer. Matias Vecino is on an expiring contract, while Arturo Vidal is on shaky ground.
