Inter Icon Materazzi Applauds Napoli Following Milan Derby

Despite Inter cruising to a rather comfortable 1-0 win over Milan in the Derby della Madonnina, they sit a whopping 13 points behind Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli. The Partenopei cruised to a 3-0 win over Spezia earlier before the derby kicked off, leaving the Nerazzurri no choice but to go all-out against their arch-rivals.

Inter icon Marco Materazzi spoke to DAZN after the Milan derby and congratulated Napoli in advance for potentially winning the Scudetto.

“There was no match. It went well for Milan, given the last period, it could have ended much worse. Inter’s distance from first place is abysmal, we must congratulate Napoli. The team is trustworthy, plays well, and has many worthy substitutes like Raspadori and Simeone on the bench.”

Napoli’s victory over their Ligurians counterparts brings them one step closer to a first Scudetto title in over 30 years. They face Cremonese and Sassuolo next, before going on to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.
