Inter Linked to Barcelona Outcast Set to Transfer Again

Miralem Pjanic will be on the move again after spending a season on loan at Besiktas, and Inter could be among his possible destinations. The midfielder left Barcelona over disagreements with previous coach Ronald Koeman. However, Xavi does not have him in his plans either, Mundo Deportivo informs.

Despite being under contract until 2024, the Bosnian maestro will most likely have to look for a new home. The Nerazzurri are in the market for such kind of player. They do not have a valid backup for Marcelo Brozovic, and have bumbled when he was unavailable.

On the other hand, previous reports suggested La Beneamata was eyeing youngsters for the position. Moreover, Pjanic might earn too much for Inter, especially for a secondary role. His wages increased to €8M following his move from Italy to Spain in 2020.

The midfielder agreed to a slight pay cut ahead of the temporary move to Turkey, and Barcelona are currently paying half of of his salary. The Nerazzurri will shed some money off the books in a couple of months as Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal are poised to leave.

Pjanic has a backer at Inter in CEO Giuseppe Marotta, who brought him to Juventus from Roma in 2016. The 32-year-old could have returned to the Bianconeri last summer. Massimiliano Allegri suggested his name to shore up the midfielder. However, the Old Lady eventually came to terms with Sassuolo for Manuel Locatelli. They did not make further additions since Arthur, Aaron Ramsey, and Adrien Rabiot all stayed.
