Italiano Switching Agent Reason for Concern for Fiorentina

Vincenzo Italiano has chosen the powerful Fali Ramadani as his agent, which is unlikely to please Fiorentina. The coach has not completely severed ties with his previous one, Francesco Caliandro. He was instrumental in his late move last summer and will remain his lawyer, TGR Rai Toscana informs.

The gaffer has decided to level up in the midst of a solid first season at the helm of the Viola. He is under contract until 2023, with an option for another year. The new representative could help him get an extension and a pay bump. There is also an outside chance the up-and-comer could start looking around, as he would not lack suitors.

There is no signal Italiano could leave Fiorentina in the short term, but his choice might irk the team. The Viola have a checkered history with Ramadani. He engineered Federico Chiesa’s transfer to Juventus two years ago. He also represents Maurizio Sarri and Leonardo Semplici as far as Italian managers are concerned. The Gigliati have been leading the crusade against overly influential agents since Rocco Commisso took over the club.

His firm, LIAN Sports group, assists Nikola Milenkovic, Matija Nastasic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ante Rebic, Miralem Pjanic, Marcos Alonso, Samir Handanovic and Nedim Bajrami, among many others. Italiano has not shown a ton of loyalty towards his clubs throughout his relatively short coaching career, and Fiorentina benefitted from that when they poached him from Spezia. He has never spent more than two seasons on the same team during his meteoric rise.
