Juventus Growing Irritated with Pogba over Injury Woes

Paul Pogba was on the bench for the recent Monza game, but he won’t be available Thursday against Lazio due to a thigh problem. It should be a minor one, as the tests ruled out strains. Though Juventus are getting frustrated with the absences of the midfielder, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

He could be back in next Tuesday’s fixture versus Salernitana, but nobody can make firm predictions given how long he has been out. The French star, who’s the highest-paid player on the squad, has yet to feature this season. His last game dates back to April 19th.

According to the publication, the previous management, most of which stepped down due to the recent events, was considering denying Pogba the bonuses he was due to the team’s performances. He gets them regardless of whether he appears or not. It’s unlikely he’ll give up part of his wages on his own. In addition, probably no other side would hand him the same wages if he was made available in the summer.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri had grim remarks about the former Manchester United ace in the pre-game presser.

“It’s tough to start a machine that hasn’t worked for such a long time. His issues come from the fact he has to reset. He may be in optimal conditions in two or three months. From here on out, I expect him to contribute as somebody that has logged just 45 minutes since April. We have to play it by ear, and we’ll have the exploit the times when he’s fit.”

Pogba was expected to be out for 45/60 days following the delayed surgery for a meniscus tear, but he’s not back five months later.
