Juventus Not Very Keen on Barcelona Misfit, Tottenham Frontrunners

Miralem Pjanic could leave Barcelona at favorable conditions, but Juventus have other priorities. The Blaugrana offered the Bosnian midfielder to terminate his contract to reduce their payroll. The 31-year-old turned down the proposal, Mundo Deportivo and SOSFanta report.

Pjanic is tight with returning boss Massimiliano Allegri, under whom he had his best seasons. However, the Bianconeri have different plans for the midfield, as they are relentlessly chasing after Manuel Locatelli. At the moment, the return of the Bosnian international is not a viable option, Sky Sport reported. Juventus would likely be interested in Pjanic only if they could not come to terms with Sassuolo. Unless there are some departures, the starlet may be their only addition in the role.

While the Barcelona outcast might not return to Turin, he could still reunite with a familiar face. Former Juventus director Fabio Paratici would like to bring him to London. Tottenham are currently leading the race, while Inter and Manchester United have shown some interest, SportMediaset and The Daily Express inform.

Pjanic moved to Catalunya last September on a €60M swap with Arthur. Neither side benefitted from the move, if not exclusively financially due to their evaluations. The Bosnian made just 12 starts last season and vanished in the second half. The Brazilian midfielder had an okay start but a lower leg injury plagued him in recent months. The calcification is still affecting him, and he may require surgery, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
