At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus hosted Bologna for their first home fixture of the season. The Bianconeri found some unexpected difficulties against the Emilians who took a first-half lead thanks to Lewis Ferguson. Massimiliano Allegri’s men spent the majority of the encounter trailing, but Dusan Vlahovic eventually salvaged a point with a header late in the second half. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bologna.
Juventus (3-5-2):
Mattia Perin – 6.5
The Italian custodian made a decent save just moments before conceding a goal that he could little about. He also denied the opposition in a thrilling counter-attack that could have allowed them to double their lead.
Danilo – 6.5
The Juventus captain was by far the most solid player at the back for the Old Lady. Did well to limit Riccardo Orsolini’s danger and also pushed forward to support the attacks.
Gleison Bremer – 4.5
An abysmal outing from the former Torino man who was all over the place. Joshua Zirkzee consistently drew him out of position, creating large spaces at the back. Bologna’s goal is a case in point.
Alex Sandro – 4.5
Despite pulling off a couple of late clearances, it was too little too late to salvage another horror show at the back from the Brazilian who struggled to keep pace with Ferguson and Dan Ndoye.
Timothy Weah – 6.5
An encouraging display from the young American who was at times the most dangerous Juventus player. Tested Skorupski with a long-range effort.
Nicolò Fagioli – 5.5
A poor showing overall from the former Cremonese man even if it included one or two flashes of brilliance. Couldn’t help his side control the ball in the middle of the park.
Manuel Locatelli – 6
A hard-working display from the Euro 2020 winner who tried his best to ignite his team’s stagnant style of play. His distribution was hit-and-miss.
Adrien Rabiot – 5.5
The Frenchman earned an early yellow card and at times risked a second booking. His touch was heavy and his impact minimal.
Andrea Cambiaso – 5.5
The young wingback couldn’t quite replicate his heroics from last week while facing his former teammates. Tried to deliver dangerous crosses from the left flank but very few caused problems for the opposition.
Federico Chiesa – 5
A day to forget for the former Fiorentina man who failed to break through Bologna’s defenses whether through the middle or on the flank. He also became lazy in the press during the second half.
Dusan Vlahovic – 7.5
The Serbian bomber was hellbent on scoring and eventually got his wish. VAR denied him on the first occasion, but he still managed to put his name on the scoresheet with a clinical header. He also burst with energy and constantly urged his teammates forward, especially in the pressing phase.
Substitutes
Samuel Iling-Junior – 7
A productive cameo from the young Englishman who provided the assist for the equalizer with a delightful cross from the left side.
Paul Pogba – 6
The Frenchman’s touch needs some polishing following another long layoff, but he instigated the play that led to the equalizer by picking up Iling with a clever through ball.
Arkadiusz Milik – 5.5
The Pole never had a proper chance to impact the match, as he hardly touched the ball.
Weston McKennie – N/A
Kenan Yildiz – N/A
