Juventus Beat Competition to Bring Back Massimiliano Allegri

Juventus seem to have come out on top in the battle to appoint Massimiliano Allegri. According to multiple sources, the Bianconeri have convinced their former coach to return to Turin. The official announcement is expected to arrive later today or tomorrow at the latest.

Real Madrid and Inter were in the running for the Italian coach, but he picked his former team, which was the first to approach him in April. He will ink eighter a three or four-year contract and earn €9M per season, Gianluca Di Marzio reports. The Merengues will have to look elsewhere after Zinedine Zidane’s farewell, and Antonio Conte is among the options.

The Nerazzurri made a serious push after the split with the Scudetto winner, but Allegri preferred Juventus because of his bond with Andrea Agnelli and the club as a whole. The Old Lady set the table for the reunion Wednesday by making it official that they would move on from Fabio Paratici at the end of his contract. The director insisted on sacking the gaffer in 2019 after the early elimination in the Champions League. The coach will be heavily involved in the transfer market strategies alongside the new head of the department Federico Cherubini, who will soon be promoted.

Andrea Pirlo is waiting for the communication that he is going to be relieved from his duties after just one season at the helm, Sky Sport reports. He has received some interest from Sassuolo, which have an opening to fill as Shakhtar Donetsk poached Roberto De Zerbi.
