Juventus targeting Konstantinos Mavropanos

Juventus Set Sights on Bundesliga Center-Back

Juventus are reportedly exploring the possibility of making an approach for highly-rated Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Greece international could be an option for the Bianconeri in case they decide to sell Gleison Bremer.

Bremer is among the likeliest candidates to leave Juventus, alongside loyal servant Leonardo Bonucci and forgotten man Arthur Melo. Despite arriving from Torino in a high-cost operation only last summer, the Brazilian could hit the road in the coming weeks.

Despite paying their cross-city rivals top dollar to sign Bremer 12 months ago, Juventus are ready to part with the 26-year-old for the right price. The towering defender failed to deliver the promised quality and to impose himself as a reliable long-term replacement for Giorgio Chiellini.

Tottenham Hotspur are the frontrunners to sign Bremer as Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici looks to do some business with his former employers. If the Brazil international were to leave, Juventus would be ready to swoop for Mavropanos. The 25-year-old has flourished in the Bundesliga in recent years.

Following an underwhelming stint at Arsenal, the Greek center-back has developed into an exciting prospect at Stuttgart. He was one of the club’s best-performing players last season. Even though Die Schwaben had to survive playoff drama to secure top-flight survival, Mavropanos earned plaudits for his showings.

He is about to reach his peak powers, and it’s uncertain how much Stuttart could demand to cut him loose. But Juventus can rely on the player’s wish to take his career to the next step. On top of that, he is under contract until 2025.
