Juventus Set Their Sights on Blossoming Sassuolo Striker

Sassuolo will have to resist offers for multiple players in January. They are facing another threat as Juventus have laid their eyes on Gianluca Scamacca. The Bianconeri might not wait until the summer to address their scoring problems. The striker has hit the net in three straight matches.

Inter and Milan pursued him in the previous window as they were looking for a backup, but the demand was too high, Calciomercato.com reports. Sassuolo saw their strategy pay off as they took Scamacca off the market in the final days, partying ways with Francesco Caputo instead. His price tag has now increased compared to the €25M they were asking for beforehand, Alfredo Pedullà relays. Furthermore, the 22-year-old was not too keen on having a secondary role in a big team.

CEO Giovanni Carnevali stated multiple times that Sassuolo would not sell their best pieces in January. On top of Juventus, also Fiorentina are after Scamacca in case the Dusan Vlahovic domino fell in January. But the Italian striker, who could become the Azzurri starter if he kept going, would not come cheap for anybody.

Rather than the center-forward or Domenico Berardi, Sassuolo are more inclined to sell Jeremie Boga, the transfer market expert informs. The contract of the winger is up in 2023, and the extension talks are not progressing. Moreover, the Neroverdi have fared well while he has been injured thanks to a tactical change, with Giacomo Raspadori playing wide. Atalanta are leading the race to sign him over Napoli and Shakhtar Donetsk.
