Juventus would like to bolster their attack and have opened contacts with Mateo Retegui. They have a few balls in the air up front. The contracts of Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean run out in 2025, and Arkadiusz Milik isn’t so certain of staying, TuttoSport informed.
The Bianconeri reached out to the entourage of the Argentine, and the early conversations were fecund. Their officials were left with the impression that signing him wouldn’t be challenging if they really wanted to.
Juventus are considering Retegui either to succeed Dusan Vlahovic, should they fail to renew his contract and receive a mammoth offer, or potentially partner with him or back him up. His price tag is around €15M.
Genoa paid €12M to acquire the Azzurri striker last summer. He has tallied 8 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances in his first Serie A season.
Our Take on Juventus and Retegui
He’s a nice player but would be a terrible fit next to Vlahovic, as they are both no.9s and not very prone to passing. They would step on each other’s toes. The Serb needs somebody who would feed him next to him. Albert Gudmundsson would be way better, for instance, but also more expensive.
Instead, the Bianconeri should aim higher if they had to replace their striker, especially since his sale would fetch a substantial figure. As a deputy, he’d be an upgrade over their current options, but he’s young-ish, so it’d be better for him to have a starring role elsewhere.
