Juventus Youngster Eyes Comeback after Long Absence

Kaio Jorge has been absent for nearly a year, since last February, due to a massive knee injury. He’s getting close to full health, and he’s chomping at the bit to return on the pitch. He spoke to 3 Na Area (via TuttoSport).

“I’ve started playing as a pro when I was 15, so 5 or 6 years ago. I’m feeling better after complicated months. The injury was significant, and it involved the ACL too. It took me nine months. I’ve tried to accelerate and train with the rest of the group lately. It wasn’t a matter of fear, only pain. My first thought when it happened was when I could get back. It went well.”

Kaio Jorge looked back at his football journey.

“I’ve left my family when I was ten. It was challenging to be away from my parents and friends. I’ve found my place here at Juventus, I’m comfortable, and my days are full. After playing with Santos, my dream was to join a top European side, and I achieved that. There’s a different tactical culture, and you have to pay more attention to the defensive phase. I’ve improved on that and in pressing the opponents. The play is quicker than in Brazil.”

“When I joined, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Giorgio Chiellini were part of the squad. I’ve always starred as a center-forward, scoring a few goals. But I also ike to play a few meters deeper, in the same role as the Argentine, who connects the midfield and the attack. I can adapt to that, but also feature as a false or a true no.9.”
