Kvaratskhelia Looking Forward to Facing Real Madrid

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia never hid to be a boyhood fan of Real Madrid, but he’s now eager to beat them in the Champions League. He talked to AS ahead of Tuesday’s showdown (via Corriere dello Sport).

“I grew up watching them on TV, and I’ll defy them on the pitch now. It’s impossible not to be happy in a day like this. Guti and Cristiano Ronaldo were my idols. They inspired me. Vinicius is very good and has enormous talent. He’s the best in his role. It’ll be a great experience to face their champions. We respect them a lot, but we don’t fear anybody. We’re the Scudetto holders, and we’ll do everything to win this match.”

Kvaratskhelia looked like his former self and resumed scoring in the last game.

“I have to thank Luciano Spalletti who believed in me and made me fulfill my potential. I’ll never have enough words to show my gratitude toward him. Rudi Garcia is a great coach. We’re improving little by little and learning his scheme and vision. I’m sure we’ll reach our best possible version soon. We’re eager to follow his ideas.”

Kvaratskhelia showered Victor Osimhen with praise and disclosed his dream.

“He’s a special guy. He’s always available to help out on and off the pitch. I want to win as much as possible, but I have two objectives in particular: lifting the Champions League and playing either the Euros or the World Cup with Georgia.”
