Napoli and Lazio Cornerstones Return to the Stat-Sheet

Two of Serie A’s top stars snapped out of their scoring slumps on Wednesday, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Mattia Zaccagni. The former powered Napoli to a precious win over Udinese by also drawing a penalty kick and dishing an assist.

The Georgian ace hadn’t hit the net in 192 days. He commented to DAZN (via Fantacalcio).

“I’ll carry on like this. I’m happy to be back. Not scoring for six months made me nervous, but it’s normal. We deserved to win today. We hashed things out and also talked with the coach and realized we had to resume playing like we knew. It doesn’t matter who finds the target, it’s important to contribute to winning.”

Kvaratshkelia had fallen into a lengthy dry spell also due to a couple of injuries, while Zaccagni last knocked it on goal on April 8th. He dished to Sky.

“We were convinced we’d play a great game tonight. Maurizio Sarri asked us to restart from our defensive solidity, and that’s what happened. I’m happy for scoring, but especially for the victory. We started more slowly than in previous campaigns. Something important awaits us, and we’re ready to seize it.”

Our Take on Kvaratshkelia and Zaccagni

It was coming for both, as the Napoli attacker started to look like himself after a rough summer a couple of matches ago already, while the Lazio winger just needed to finetune his aim because he squandered some big chances.
