Lazio Forced to Select Among Their Extra-EU Targets

Lazio are poised to speed up on the transfer market, but they’ll have to pick and choose which player to sign. They can put under contract just one more extra-EU after acquiring Taty Castellanos. They have multiple ones in their sights, Alfredo Pedullà relays.

The Biancocelesti are in advanced talks with Chelsea to onboard Callum Hudson-Odoi, who’s the frontrunner to fill the final spot. After probing a few options, he’s become the top choice for the wing. Fulham are also keen, though. Instead, Gustav Isaksen and Jesper Karlsson are more expensive and less established. The Chelsea outcast would join on an initial loan.

Lazio have blocked Arsen Zakharyan for the midfield, who would be an investment for the future. They will soon meet with Daichi Kamada’s agent. He’s a free agent but demands €4M wages, and the commissions aren’t cheap either. They are both extra-EU.

The Biancocelesti, and the other Serie A sides, could get an unexpected assist from the Olympic Committee. The Italian Football Association filed an official request to remove the restriction related to British players, as is already the case for Swiss ones. It would open up new scenarios also for Milan, but the timing of the decision by the body is uncertain.
