Lazio Preparing Zaccagni Renewal to Repel PSG Interest

Mattia Zaccagni is having a stellar season and drawing interest from top clubs, but Lazio are in advanced talks to extend his contract and secure his long-term permanence. The winger reportedly landed on PSG’s radar, which always follow Serie A with keen interest, L’Equipe informs (via Tuttomercatoweb).

On the other hand, the Biancocelesti already opened negotiations for a new contract. The parties aren’t distant from striking a deal. Per Corriere dello Sport, the winger asks for €3M per year, while the club offered €2.2M in their latest proposal. The parties will have to haggle some more. It might be just a matter of time before they come to terms.

Mario Giuffredi rubbished the chatter about other outfits in an interview with TVPlay.

“There’s only Lazio in the future of Zaccagni. We are in touch with president Claudio Lotito regarding his extension. I like to be the first to say things, and I never talk in hindsight: I think they will be the next team to win the Scudetto if they give continuity to Maurizio Sarri’s project. Mattia is great in Rome and is ready to tie himself down for a few years.”

Our Take on Lazio and Zaccagni

He was a late bloomer and reached complete maturity this season, and he’s been flat-out devastating. It’d be interesting to see whether he’d keep up his production on other sides. His coach is masterful in getting the best out of his players. The Biancocelesti will have other pressing matters to take care of in the summer. They’ll probably nip this one in the bud before the start of the transfer window.
