Lazio Take Notice of Rise of Girona’s Brazilian Winger

Lazio have laid eyes on Savinho, who’s turning heads at the high-flying Girona. They faced him during a summer friendly. His performance only confirmed their previous rave reviews about him. The Biancocelesti had tracked him while he was in Brazil, but the Manchester City network beat him to the punch, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The youngster has recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in 14 appearances across all competitions this season. His valuation has skyrocketed. It’ll take at least a €20M offer to sign him.

Lazio have earmarked Savinho considering their uncertainty on the wings. Pedro might be in his final year in Italy. Moreover, they have been unable to reach an agreement with Mattia Zaccagni on s contract extension. Since his deal will expire in 2025, they might be forced to sell him next summer.

The 19-year-old broke out with Atletico Mineiro in his home country before Troyes acquired him for €6.5M in July 2022. He didn’t set foot in France as he was quickly loaned out to PSV, where he provided two assists in nine appearances before transferring to Girona.

Our Take on Lazio and Savinho

There’s still time to come to terms with Zaccagni, but they’ll still probably have to sign another attacker sooner rather than later. While the interest is understandable, the prodigy will probably just move to Manchester City if he keeps it up.
