Maldini: “Milan More Focused on Renewals than Signings”

Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has said that the club will not make any signings in the January transfer window, instead, focusing on contract renewals.

As quoted by Calciomercato.comthe Rossoneri legend said: “I think we will do nothing in January, the team is competitive right now. We are now more focused on renewals. As long as there is time there is hope.”

Franck Kessie, Alessio Romagnoli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, all have their contracts expiring next summer and Milan will be looking to tie them to new deals. It’s not surprising that the Rossoneri will be focused on contract renewals but making a signing or two would add some depth to their squad.

Following their defeat to Sassuolo, Milan remain second in the Serie A table but they are three points behind Napoli and only one behind Inter.

Next up for Stefano Pioli’s men is an away fixture against Genoa on Wednesday.
