Max Allegri Urges Juventus to Bounce Back After Another Upset

Massimiliano Allegri is unwilling to accept a harsh reality after his underperforming Juventus side slipped to a late 1-0 loss at Lazio. Despite extending their dreadful run to just one win in their last nine Serie A outings, the Bianconeri boss believes his men are still on the right path.

Juventus fans jeered the team after a scoreless draw against Genoa before the international break. Those whistles seem to have fallen on the players’ deaf ears as Allegri’s troops delivered another sub-par performance.

Adam Marusic’s last-minute header punished Juventus at the death, but it was nothing less than Lazio deserved. However, Allegri is seemingly unfazed by his side’s embarrassing spell of form. Instead, he insists they’re on the verge of achieving their seasonal goal.

The statistics say that we are not doing well. Fortunately, we have a big advantage over fifth place,” the under-pressure Juventus manager told DAZN, as quoted by TMW. “We must and we will achieve our target of Champions League qualification, even if it goes down to the final day of the season.

This is not an easy moment. We must overcome it and turn things around.

Juventus are still eight points clear of fifth-placed Roma. But Giallorossi could reduce it to five if they live up to their tag as pre-match favorites against out-of-sorts Lecce on Monday. Another problem for Allegri is a toothless frontline, which has failed to score in back-to-back league matches.

Juventus will have a chance to redeem themselves to their fans next week when Fiorentina touch down in Turin.
