Milan Have an Ambitious Plan to Solve Offensive Issues

Milan have had troubles whenever Olivier Giroud didn’t score this season, as his current backup Luka Jovic has done very little so far. They’ll try to eradicate the issue by having more sound options in 2023/2024, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Tuttomercatoweb).

The Rossoneri have offered a one-year renewal to the Frenchman with a reduced salary compared to his present one, €3.5M. They believe he’ll take it and transition to a smaller role, alternating and occasionally pairing up with another top-shelf striker.

Milan have pursued Jonathan Davide in the past, and he continues to be their main target. They were met with very high requests in previous windows. His price tag will decrease in the summer, as the expiry date of his contract, 2025, will loom. A €40M offer could be sufficient to convince Lille, which, however, ask for €60M.

The Rossoneri might roster three center-forwards to be safe in case of injuries and suspensions. Lorenzo Colombo is maturing quickly at Monza. He’s poised to stay put next summer. He has bagged three goals in nine appearances so far.

Our Take on the Milan Attacking Plans

It would be a sound strategy, but the only thing they can control is the future of their youngster, who’ll easily deserve a spot in their squad if he keeps it up. Giroud might not be so keen on accepting that deal, and David will have a few deep-pocketed suitors.
