Napoli Already Planning to Offer New Contract to Star

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is poised to stay at Napoli for years to come, even though the suitors are flocking given his stellar impact with Serie A. The Azzurri labeled recent statements by their director Cristiano Giuntoli to a Russian outlet, which said that the Georgian wasn’t going anywhere, as false. However, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t working in such direction.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Partenopei will look to stay the course next summer after the previous one was filled with significant departures. They are on excellent terms with his agent Mamuka Jugheli. Even though the attacker is tied to them long term, he’s already due for a pay bump.

The Napoli decision-makers and the Kvaratskhelia camp will meet in January or slightly afterward to talk business. He’s under contract till 2027 and makes €1.2M annually. The team will propose adding another year. His wages could double to keep the wealthy teams that could offer more at bay.

There’s no release clause in his deal, and the Georgian has settled in nicely in Naples, as he recently declared. In addition, he’s not represented by a high-powered agent eager to profit from another transfer.

Our Take on Napoli and Kvaratskhelia

They won’t lack offers, and likely even very rich ones, but the Partenopei will be in the driver’s seat for a long time, also thanks to the humble personality of the ace. Rather than on the Georgian, the spotlight will be on Victor Osimhen and Piotr Zielinski at the end of the season. They have been at the club for longer, and their current deals only last until 2024. They’ll be in the same situation as Kalidou Koulibaly last summer if they don’t extend them.
