Celta Vigo talent Gabri Veiga is on the verge of switching to Napoli following a €36M deal including bonuses and add-ons. Veiga, who has gradually established himself as one of Spain’s most exciting midfield prospects, is close to starring for Rudi Garcia’s Partenopei in the 2023/24 season.
Aurelio De Laurentiis and the club management first shortlisted Veiga as a direct replacement for Piotr Zielinski. However, the Pole is yet to accept an offer to bid the Partenopei goodbye.

It is reportedly a €2M net per season deal tabled for Veiga, who has accepted Napoli’s offer without hesitation. Vigo were initially hesitant to accept anything less than the €40M release clause set upon Veiga’s head but eventually succumbed to the negotiations for a few million lesser than expected. However, bureaucratic obstacles look to delay the official announcement.
Rafa Benitez played coy on the matter during his pre-game presser. The talent has been called up for Saturday’s tilt against Real Sociedad. The gaffer commented (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“He’ll be an extra option for us until he’s here. We must talk to him to understand his mood. We can’t deny that there’s some movement. He’s practicing. If he was sold, we’d have the chance to sign some pieces. That’s not the case at the moment, so it’s not easy. We face some limitations.”
Veiga is on the verge of becoming the fourth permanent signing for Napoli for the 2023/24 summer window following the acquisitions of Natan, Elia Caprile, and Jens Cajuste.
