Nice Rivaling Chelsea in Heated Race for Inter Starlet

A new suitor has emerged for in-demand Inter starlet Cesare Casadei, as Nice have touched base with the Nerazzurri in the last few days and Chelsea continue to loom. The French outfit already signed a touted Italian prospect in Mattia Viti. They are also going after his former teammate Fabiano Parisi even though just extended his contract with Empoli.

As per Sky, Les Aiglons are currently outbidding Chelsea for the Primavera prodigy. According to the Evening Standard, the Blues previously offered about €15M for the 19-year-old. The recent acquisition of Carney Chukwuemeka hasn’t caused their interest to wane.

It was previously reported that Inter set a €20M price tag for Casadei for teams that wouldn’t accept to include a buy-back clause in the deal, as it would be the case for Nice and Chelsea. Instead, the Nerazzurri could let him go for half such price otherwise. In that sense, Sassuolo and Torino are in the mix. The Granata wanted to insert the youngster in the Gleison Bremer negotiation.

While La Beneamata is open to selling the starlet, they are looking for a sizeable monetary return. In the management’s ideal plans, the earnings from such transfer and Andrea Pinamonti’s one would be enough to forgo having to complete a major departure this summer. According to Alfredo Pedullà, Sassuolo have come to terms with the striker on a four-year contract. He should take the medicals tomorrow.

Our Take on Nice and Chelsea Tracking Casadei

It’s not a swell situation, but the Nerazzurri need money and cashing in on somebody that, while talented, isn’t part of the squad would be less painful than partying ways with a stalwart that would have to be properly replaced afterward.
