Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved is convinced that Andrea Pirlo and Cristiano Ronaldo will both stay at the club despite the subpar season. The executive, who was not as resolute regarding the future of Paulo Dybala, discussed the matters in an interview with DAZN.
“Pirlo is and will remain our coach, 100 percent. We started a new project with him, we were aware there could be some difficulties given also the young roster. We wanted to do something more, but we were unable to. We are very serene and we will stay the course. He has everything to become a top coach, he just needs time.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo can not be criticized in any way, shape or form. He has a contract till June of 2022 and he will stay at Juventus. We will see what will happen at the end of it. He catapulted us to the football elite both from a technical and marketing standpoint. He has scored more than 100 goals in 120 games. He is a very simple guy even though he may not seem like it from the outside. He is the prototype of the of the modern footballer that reaches incredible results thanks to his immense talent and a lot of hard work.”
“We missed Paulo Dybala, he played fewer than 800 minutes, way too little. His presence would have given us multiple options offensively, besides his goals. He has a year left on his deal and the president and Fabio Paratici already discussed it. Then it is clear that we evaluate every transfer market opportunity here at Juventus.”
