Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti backs Napoli to go all the way once the Serie A season resumes on January 4. The Partenopei are unbeaten across their 15 games so far this season, as they seek to conquer a first Scudetto title since the days of Diego Maradona.
During an exclusive interview with SportMediaset (via Tuttomercatoweb), the ex-Milan coach was asked if he has a tip or advice for Luciano Spalletti’s outfit.
“A tip to Naples? I absolutely don’t want to give it. I just hope that a team like Naples can finally win the Scudetto. The advantage is important, but the season is long.”
Ancelotti then shed light on his managerial stint at Napoli, followed by a move to Everton before returning back to Real Madrid.
“The experience of Naples was positive, I wanted to go back to Italy and I did it in a warm place. Things did not go perfectly, but from my point of view they went well anyway. Then there was Everton, another important experience. It was a good time, then surprisingly the unexpected return to Real Madrid.”
Ancelotti managed the Partenopei from May 2018 to December 2019, undertaking a rollercoaster ride in the south of Italy where he won 38 of the 73 matches in charge, drawing 19 and losing the rest 16.
