Real Madrid Coach Ancelotti Backs Mourinho to Carve Roma Legacy

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed Jose Mourinho to etch his legacy in Rome as the Portuguese tactician embarks on a journey to propel Roma back into the ranks of the European elite. The ex-Milan coach believes the former Inter manager has done an ‘extraordinary’ job so far at the Stadio Olimpico.

Speaking to Radio Anch’io Lo Sport broadcast by Radio1 (via VoceGiallorossa), Ancelotti shared his thoughts on the Giallorossi’s progress under Mourinho.

“I think Mourinho has reignited enthusiasm to a place that needed it badly. He’s doing an extraordinary job thanks to his qualities, but I don’t know what can happen next,” he said.

Nonetheless, the legendary Italian coach believes the Portuguese can play a significant role in reviving Roma

“I think Mourinho can play an important role in Roma’s history,” concluded Ancelotti.

Mourinho’s Roma are currently in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League and well in contention to land a fifth place in the Serie A standings. However, Fiorentina and Lazio lurk just a point behind the Romans as they continue seeking an European finish.
