Roma Not Getting Bang for Their Bucks Salary-Wise

While Roma hasn’t invested a lot in terms of fees in recent windows, they haven’t been shy in handing out conspicuous wages. Only a handful of them have corresponded to worthy displays on the pitch, though. The Giallorossi have the third richest payroll in Serie A behind Juventus and Inter, Tuttomercatoweb informs. They are currently seventh in the table.

Romelu Lukaku makes €7M as for the portion they cover, while Paulo Dybala earns €3.8M, plus add-ons that could push the figure close to €6M. Tammy Abraham came in with a €4.5M salary. He fully lived up to in his first season before tailing off in his second one. He’s out with an ACL tear.

While the Roma strikers have produced, the front office missed some swings in other roles. For instance, Leandro Paredes and Evan N’Dicka cash in €4M in wages. They had to overspend a little since they got the latter through a Bosman move, and the former almost gratis from PSG.

The Giallorossi are giving roughly €3.5M to Renato Sanches and Chris Smalling, who have spent more time on the infirmary than on the pitch. They were unable to offload either Rick Karsdorp or Zeki Celik last summer, so their three wing-backs, including Rasmus Kristensen, combine for a hefty €7M tally.

Roma were more diligent in other additions. Houssem Aouar and Diego Llorente make €2.7/2.8M and Sardar Azmoun €1.7M. Edoardo Bove (200k) and Nicola Zalewski (300k) are at the bottom of the chart.
