Although Roma are keen to bring in a central/defensive midfielder to the club’s ranks, they are equally eager to offload one of their players in Amadou Diawara, who seems to have no place in Jose Mourinho’s season plans.
Diawara was already informed of the Special One’s plans in the past summer transfer window, but wasn’t lucky enough to find a suitor before deadline day. However, the story is quite different at the moment for the former Napoli man.
According to Italian media outlet Il Tempo (via CoeurMarseillais), two clubs in Olympique de Marseille and Eintracht Frankfurt are said to have made initial contact for the Guinea midfielder.
Marseille are expecting their midfield starlet Boubacar Kamara to depart anytime soon in the upcoming window(s), amid heightened interest from heavyweights such as Juventus and Milan. They are preparing to onboard his direct replacement. The French club’s chief Pablo Longoria is already said to have expressed his interest in Diawara.
Frankfurt on the other hand, contacted the player’s entourage earlier during the summer transfer season.
Diawara’s contract at Roma expires in June 2024. He currently has a transfermarkt value of €14m and at just 24, he has a bright future ahead of him at one of Europe’s top clubs.
