After being beaten by Inter for the first time in Europe this season, high-flying Sheriff coach Yuriy Vernydub believes that his team have learnt from the mistakes of their 3-1 loss at the Giuseppe Meazza a fortnight ago.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference (via FCInterNews), The Ukrainian tactician shed light on a variety of topics and also noted the importance of playing at home in from of their own supporters.
He said: “We will do our best, we must do everything possible. We arrive at this great event which is the Champions League by taking one step at a time, we are working together with the support of the fans and the city.”
According to him, the Moldovans have learnt from their mistakes and developed a tactical strategy to overcome the Nerazzurri’s prowess in Tiraspol.
“It will be a different match than 15 days ago because we have developed a tactical strategy after the match. Inter are a strong team, the crowd will be our 12th man. We prepared a lot after the match in Milan, the main goal is not to repeat the mistakes we made. We learned from those mistakes, I think we’ll show it tomorrow,” he explained.
Sheriff currently sit level on points with Real Madrid at 6 points, two more than the Italians, who look to avoid crashing out of the group stages of the competition for a second successive season.
