Theo Hernandez Commits His Future to Milan Amid Foreign Interest

Theo Hernandez has pledged his future to Milan amid growing interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. The sought-after left-back has celebrated his 100th appearance for the Rossoneri, committing his future to San Siro via Instagram.

Hernandez has developed into one of Europe’s finest left-backs since swapping Real Madrid for Milan in summer 2019. While enjoying a rise to stardom at San Siro, Theo has become a permanent fixture in the France national team. He played a prominent role as Les Bleus wrapped up the UEFA Nations League title back in October.

The 24-year-old has been an integral part of Stefano Pioli’s side that finished runners-up to Inter last season and continue to stake their claim for a long-awaited Serie A title this term. Hernandez made his 100th appearance for the Rossoneri a week ago as Milan drew 1-1 at Udinese.

His current contract at the club is due to expire in summer 2024. Given his importance to Pioli’s set-up, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been working around the clock to tie Hernandez down to a new deal for months. Extension talks are in advanced stages as the Italians hope to fend off persistent foreign interest.

Theo looks to be enjoying his life in Milan, as evidenced by his latest Instagram post

Proud to be Rossonero,” he wrote on social media. “Wishing to play 100 and 100 and 100 more. #SempreMilan

Milan paid Madrid around €21.5m to secure Hernandez’s signature two years ago. The Frenchman’s market value has since doubled as their rising star carries a reputation as Europe’s best attacking-minded left-back. Naturally, some of the best European clubs have added the ex-Los Merengues youngster to their shortlists.

After PSG’s interest emerged in the summer, Chelsea are said to be following Hernandez with great attention. The Premier League heavyweights are not satisfied with Ben Chilwell’s performances and are eyeing up another big-money to replace the England international.
